A YEAR AT YUMBURRA
Just like the book, the film A Year at Yumburra is structured around the seasons and the associated activities on Yumburra farm, a property in far south-east Gippsland where Bruce Pascoe and his partner, Lyn Harwood, run the enterprise Black Duck Foods. The film chronicles the passage of time through the various seasons and routines on Yumburra farm, situated on the banks of the Wallagaraugh River. Bruce Pascoe serves as the gentle narrator, intertwining the farm's story with personal anecdotes for his grandchildren.
A TOWN WITHOUT MUSIC
A music teacher moves to a small Tasmanian town and starts a community band that has the most unlikely of journeys. The film mixes thirty years of rich archival footage with the present-day story. It follows the filmmaker’s father Layton Hodgetts, the charismatic music teacher and founder of the band. Layton recognised the need for the band due to a lack of musical opportunity in the town.
