Sam is a filmmaker based in Sydney, Australia who has been working in the arts industry for over fifteen years. He has been involved in a range of productions from feature films to observational documentaries and has also worked on a number of international co-productions that have led to an array of collaborations with filmmakers from around the world.

His first feature documentary, MIGUELITO about a child Puerto Rican salsa singer and described as the Caribbean ‘Searching for Sugarman’ had it’s world premiere at Festival Internacional de Cine De Cartagena de Indias, 59 in Colombia, 2019 and has since been on the festival circuit including Raindance Film Festival in London and the prestigious Margaret Mead Documentary Film Festival in New York City.

Sam has as well directed the short documentary L'Artigiano that was selected for competition at the Antenna Documentary Film Festival,  Sydney. He was the editor on the short drama ‘Driftwood Dustmites’ that was selected for competition at the 65th Berlinale Film Festival and for the short drama ‘Mary in the Locker Room’ selected for Cimmfest, Chicago, 2015. He has also worked at the Post Production house Solid State, the ABC and JOTZ Productions.

Apart from film Sam has an extensive background and knowledge of music. He teaches trumpet privately, co hosts a radio show on 94.5 FBi Radio (Bare Necessities) and performs around Sydney as a deejay.

As a graduate of the Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS), Sam has completed a diploma in picture editing. He previously studied at the University of Technology, Sydney where he completed a Masters in Communications and also holds a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Anthropology and Music from the University of Sydney.
